LanParty.ie was originally put together in early 2006 by, PPC who was part of the Waterford LAN community and BioHazRd who was the founder of the Darkside LAN series, to help revitalise the gaming scene within Ireland and to be a successor to Room101.org. With initial support from LAN organisers as well as Room101, LanParty.ie was put in to development as the new central hub for LANs within the Irish community.

Room101.org was orginally set up as an online home for their Lan Parties but eventually grew into a central location for events throughout the country.

Darkside LANs were founded in 2002. They started out as small private events held in BioHazRd's home but with increasing demand, they moved to 3rd party venues and larger numbers followed. Darkside LAN is still seen as one of the premier LAN events to ever have been held in Ireland.

Events such as Galway LAN and WCG Ireland utilising the LanParty.ie website since it's inception and we choose to start running our own standlone events in summer of 2009. The Galway LAN administration team joined up with LanParty.ie to help organise the new LanParty.ie events.

With our LAN series as well as our on going relationship with WCG Ireland, we are hoping to promote both casual and competitive gaming across Ireland.
